Kick-Off Meeting Audit Energi di Gedung Slamet Bratanata

On Monday, December 16, 2024, the Directorate of Energy Conservation under the Directorate General of New and Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, in collaboration with the British Embassy in Jakarta through the UK PACT MENTARI Energy Efficiency program, convened the Kick-Off Meeting for Energy Audits at the Slamet Bratanata Building. The initiative, spearheaded by the Institute for Natural Resources, Energy, and Environmental Management (IREEM), aligns with the objectives of Government Regulation No. 33 of 2023 on Energy Conservation.

The event was formally opened by Mr. Endra Deddy Tamtama, Coordinator for Energy Conservation Supervision, representing the Director of Energy Conservation. In his opening address, he underscored the critical role of energy audits in advancing conservation efforts across various sectors, particularly in government buildings. "Energy audits serve as a strategic starting point for understanding consumption patterns and identifying opportunities for efficiency, leading to significant environmental and operational benefits," remarked Mr. Tamtama.

This Kick-Off Meeting was designed to establish a comprehensive foundation for the upcoming energy audit process by fostering a shared understanding among all stakeholders about its objectives, methodology, and stages. Furthermore, it sought to promote awareness and commitment from relevant stakeholders to actively support energy conservation initiatives, not only during the audit process but also in implementing its recommendations. The expected outcome is the identification of energy-saving potentials that will form the basis for strategies to enhance building energy performance, reduce operational costs, and advance environmental sustainability.

As part of the audit implementation, IREEM, supported by PT Sucofindo, conducted several field activities, including:

1.    Walk-Through Audit
An initial inspection of facilities and equipment to preliminarily identify general opportunities for energy efficiency.

2.    Electrical Panel Measurements
Analysis of energy consumption across main electrical panels to obtain detailed insights into energy distribution within the building.

3.    Thermal Comfort Assessment
Evaluation of thermal parameters such as temperature, humidity, and air quality to ensure optimal efficiency of the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) system.

4.    Secondary Data Collection
Compilation of supporting data, including historical energy usage reports, technical specifications of equipment, and energy-related operational policies.

This initiative aspires to establish the Slamet Bratanata Building as a benchmark for energy-efficient office buildings nationwide. It is hoped that this model can inspire similar efforts in other institutions, fostering a culture of energy conservation and sustainability across sectors.
