31 Building Managers Declared "Competent" as Energy Managers in Buildings
Tegal, 12 – 16 September 2023 - Building Energy Managers have a key role in energy management, and they are responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating energy saving activities in buildings. Training and certification of energy managers in government buildings is a strategic step to increase awareness, knowledge and skills of professionals responsible for energy management in government buildings. Managers who are certified in energy management will encourage the implementation of significant energy efficiency. This is in line with the mandate of Government Regulation Number 33 of 2023 concerning Energy Conservation that energy managers appointed to carry out energy management must have a competency certificate.
In this effort, the Institute for Natural Resources, Energy and Environmental Management (IREEM), in the MENTARI Energy Efficiency program supported by UK-PACT, collaborates with PT. Indonesia Solusi Energy Conservation (KenSI) and the Professional Certification Institute (LSP) Association of Energy Conservation Experts (HAKE) organize energy manager certification for building managers, especially government buildings.
A total of 31 building managers from Ministries and Regional Work Units (SKPD) in the Provinces of West Java, Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta, had to go through a series of certifications, consisting of the portfolio verification stage, written test stage and interview stage.
